A Gentle Reminder to Prioritise Your Mental Fitness

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been fortunate to travel around beautiful South Australia and interstate, working with incredible people through my Workbench for the Mind program.

There’s something deeply rewarding about being in conversation with people who are navigating change, pressure, uncertainty, growth, and all the complexity that life brings. No matter where I go, one thing continues to stand out: so many of us are carrying a lot mentally and emotionally, often without giving ourselves the time or tools to properly process it.

Now that I’m back at the farm, back in my happy place, I’ve had the chance to slow down a little and reconnect with the practices that support me personally.

And it’s been a timely reminder that mental fitness isn’t something we work on once and then tick off the list.

It’s ongoing.

Just like physical health, our mental wellbeing needs consistent care, attention, and maintenance. We can’t keep pouring energy into work, family, responsibilities, and everyone around us while neglecting the very thing that helps us navigate it all: our mind.

For me, Workbench for the Mind is more than a program I teach. It’s something I genuinely use myself. The tools and practices inside it are the same ones I return to regularly to reset, refocus, build resilience, and stay grounded when life becomes busy or demanding.

Sometimes mental fitness looks like creating space to think clearly.
Sometimes it’s recognising when you need rest.
Sometimes it’s noticing the stories you’re telling yourself.
And sometimes it’s simply checking in honestly with how you’re really doing.

The truth is, we often wait until we feel overwhelmed before we start paying attention to our mental wellbeing. But the real power comes from building supportive habits before we reach that point.

So this is simply a gentle reminder today:

Pause for a moment.
Check in with yourself.
Reconnect with what genuinely supports you.

Your mind deserves the same level of care and attention that you give to every other important part of your life.

And if you’re looking for practical tools to help strengthen your mental fitness, that’s exactly why I created Workbench for the Mind.
