When You Choose Yourself, Everyone Benefits
I'd like to share a simple thought that has the power to change how you see yourself and the choices you make.
So many people believe that choosing themselves is selfish. They put everyone else's needs first and feel guilty whenever they take time for themselves. If you've ever felt this way, I want to offer you a different perspective.
I don't believe choosing yourself is selfish at all.
In fact, I believe it's one of the most selfless things you can do.
Choosing Yourself Creates a Ripple Effect
When you choose what's right for you and make decisions from a place of awareness, something remarkable happens.
You become a better version of yourself.
You're more present. More patient. More compassionate. More resilient.
And that version of you is what you give to the people around you.
Your partner receives a calmer, happier version of you. Your children benefit from your patience and presence. Your friends experience your kindness and energy. Your colleagues see your best qualities shine through.
One positive choice doesn't stop with you. It creates a ripple effect that reaches everyone in your life.

Self-Care Isn't Selfish
Many people think that self-care means putting themselves ahead of everyone else.
That's not what I'm talking about.
Choosing yourself means recognising what you need to be healthy, emotionally balanced, and true to who you are. It means honouring your wellbeing so you have the capacity to support others without running yourself into the ground.
When your own cup is full, you have so much more to give.
The Best Gift You Can Give Others
Imagine trying to encourage, support, or care for someone when you're exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
It's difficult.
Now imagine showing up feeling calm, energised, and grounded.
Which version of you is more helpful to the people you love?
The answer is obvious.
The greatest gift you can offer others is the healthiest version of yourself.
A Thought to Take Into Your Week
As you move through this week, I'd like to leave you with one question:
What would change if you stopped seeing choosing yourself as selfish and started seeing it as an act of kindness for everyone around you?
When you choose yourself with awareness and intention, everyone benefits.
